Calibration

Use the Calibration feature to:

  • Store information about your equipment
  • Require users to register the equipment they are using to do the work described in a ticket/item

When setting up Calibration for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Find out the information needed to describe your equipment (in equipment items).
  2. If your company already has this information (barcodes, etc.) use it to create the Equipment Calibration form from which you'll create equipment items
  3. Use the Equipment Calibration form to create equipment items. These items must have fields for this information:

    • Device ID: The unique identifier for each piece of equipment (barcode, UPC, etc.)
    • Status: The Status determines whether users can work on work items with the equipment needed. Open statuses allow work to proceed. Closed statuses require users to register the equipment needed before the work can proceed
    • Type: The kind of equipment (truck, wrench, drill, etc.)
  4. Create Work Type Calibrations to link the equipment items to work items. This means users can be required to register equipment before they work on work items.
  5. Apply calibration to groups of users
