Form Components

1. On the top menu bar, click System Management ( ) > Administration > Work Management > App Designer
2. On the App Summary page, in the left column, click Form Components
3. On the Form Components screen, in the upper-right corner, click Create New Component
4. On the Create Component window, name the component. Click Continue
5. On the Component screen, the system says "There are one or more errors that must be corrected before you can save." This message occurs because the component does not contain a required form field yet. To add form fields see, Modify Component, step 2, below

1. On the Form Components screen, click the component

2. On the Component screen, make your changes:

   Change	Description
   Add field	At the bottom of the fields, click +Add Field
   Form	For details, see Form Details
   Change name	In the upper right corner, click Settings In the Component Settings window, rename the form
   Copy field	Click the ellipsis (...) > Copy ( )
   Delete field	Delete fields: Click the ellipsis (...) > Delete ( )
   Field type	For details, see Field Types
   Rules	For details, see Rules

    

3. Optional: Enable searching

   If searching is enabled, when creating an item from a form containing this component, the fields (in this component) can be searched for data from all previously-created items that use this component (each field has a search button below it). The forms using this component are listed in the Component Settings window.

   3a: In the upper right corner, click Settings

   3b: In the Component Settings window, under Enable Searching, click Y

   3c: Type the number of past days for searching to be effective. The period starts from the date you create the item that uses this component.

   3d: Click Save

4. Optional. Preview. To see what the component looks like to users, in the upper right corner, click Preview
5. When finished adding fields or rules, click Save Component. The component appears on the Form Components screen.

1. On the App Summary page, in the left column, click Form Components
2. On the Form Components screen, click the component
3. On the Component screen, at the bottom of the screen, click the ellipses ( ...). Result: A small window appears
4. Click Delete Component

There are two ways to view the history of changes to form components:

1. On either the Form Components Summary page or Form Components page, in the upper right corner, click History.

2. In the History window:

   Page	Description
   Form Components Page	The list of all changes and the person who performed them
   Form Components Summary Page	The list of all changes to all form components and the people who performed them

   Click Show Changes to see a description of the change
